Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase "each other" doesn't make any sense. ~Rumi May we all lay in this field today...soaking in the glory rays of love and togetherness! I'm so thankful for this space where we can be seen!
May you Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms. When it is over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument. I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.” ~Mary Oliver May you Sweetly Seek:)

You really do have the power to create the most amazing life. Do you believe this about yourself? Sometimes you choose to soften into the edges of life, sometimes you cultivate stillness to allow for guidance, and sometimes you simply ask for support; all the while honoring your heart. May your weekend be full of every magical delight, and may you use this life to effortlessly tap back into your innate power to connect. May You Sweetly Seek:-)! May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah Trust: to believe in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of. "Open your heart. Let it show you what it knows. Learn to trust what you know. You're wiser than you think." Melody Beattie TRUST WHAT YOU KNOW
"As you grow, as you evolve, as you continue on this journey, you'll discover many special abilities, gifts, and powers. One is an increased sense of knowingness. We will begin to understand events and people on a level much deeper than we experienced before. We will begin to know the feeling of a person, place, or thing. We will begin to feel its energy, not just its matter or physical form. We'll talk to a person for a while and know if that person feels trapped, feels like a victim, or feels free. We'll know if a place hold energy that's good for us. Or we'll know that the energy isn't right for us, doesn't currently complement our needs. We won't judge. We'll just know. And we'll know what to do. Powers appear when we open the heart. We find the powers of love, comfort, faith, and joy. There are other powers, too, that come along the way. One of these is the quiet power of trusting what we know. " ~Melody Beattie~ Journey to the Heart- Daily Meditations on the Path to Freeing Your Soul May you Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah com-pas-sion: sympathetic concern for the sufferings or misfortunes. "I like when I make a mistake or two, then when I see someone doing it I don't even think about criticizing them... I see everything is perfect." Dharma Mittra Happy Monday dear hearts!! Today I want to talk about compassion. What is this sympathetic concern for suffering and misfortune? The Dali Lama so beautifully shares, "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive." Do you recognize this as being a statement of truth in your own life? So often we think of the tangible qualities of life that we can experience with our 5 senses. The notion of compassion and love are forces outside of explainable realm, but their power crosses into the realm of the infinite.
This past weekend I was blessed to participate in a lecture on meditation and breath work by Sri Dharma Mittra, from the Dharma Yoga Center of New York. His kind and caring delivery of treasured information was presented in a thoughtful and accessible manner. He greeted his audience with grace, humbleness, and whisps of humor. He offered so many nuggets of wisdom, that I could barely keep up with my pen and paper. Here are just a few that I wanted to share. Such beauty and truth in these thoughts...don't you agree? He started off his talk by acknowledging the world thoughts. "Thoughts are simply changes of emotions. As you become the witness of these thoughts you are able to attain a sense of non-action. You are action-less. You can then say to yourself, 'I see myself....and fill in the blank." "We update our computers, our phones, our electronic devices; but when was the last time that you updated your compassion?" This statement really hit home for me. We are so involved in making sure our devices are up to date that we often forget the most important device in our system, which I feel is our heart. This is the center of our love, our source of strength, our opportunity to surrender. The great trials and victories occur here. Why wouldn't we offer an update to this system of our bodies? As we become more aware and open to the mysteries of life, we become less inclined to judge that which we can't understand. We can realize ourselves in the eyes of another. The separateness of 'me' and 'them' dissolves. Our capacity to judge ourselves or another is softened by this update of compassion. Close your eyes and place your hand on your heart...this beautiful beat beneath your hand is reason enough to be compassionate. Breath in more love...exhale and send it out! "The amount of happiness you have right now is a reflection of what's ahead of you!" This statement was another goose-bump moment. What a gorgeous and wondrous thought. Our current state of happiness paves way for the multitude of blessings that lie ahead.... And finally, the last nugget he offered was that 3 things occur during our spiritual growth:
May these nuggets of inspiration serve to inspire your growth and days. What are you seeking on your spiritual path? Do you have sources of inspiration that keep you moving forward? How can you practice compassion towards yourself and others? I believe that questions grease the wheels of curiosity. May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah Fa-vor-ite: Preferred before all others of the same kind. Happy Friday beautiful hearts!!! One of my most favorite authors is Sue Monk Kidd. Her book, Firstlight is a compilation of essays from some of her earliest works as an author. These works are, "loosely gathered around 13 spiritual motifs, and they offer an intimate glimpse into the early years of Monk Kidd's journey as a writer and a spiritual seeker." This has been a favorite of mine for many years. "Rabbi Joseph Libermann told how he fell asleep one night and had a dream. In the dream he dies and goes to stand before the judgement seat of God. As he waits for God to speak, he fears that the Lord will ask him, 'Why weren't you a Moses...or a David...or a Solomon?' But God surprises him. He simply asks, 'Why weren't you Rabbi Libermann?'
When my life is over, I doubt God will ask me why I wasn't a Mother Teresa. The question I fear most is, "Why weren't you Sue Monk Kidd?" The most gracious and courageous gift we can offer the world is our authenticity, our uniqueness, the expression of our true selves."
