Happy Friday beautiful hearts! Loving this lady so much! I have been following her astrology work and have just discovered that she is also a poet!
I hope her words resonate with you! Have the most amazing weekend! May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah "Dear Lord, I have swept and I have washed but
still nothing is as shining as it should be for you. Under the sink, for example, is an uproar of mice it is the season of their many children. What shall I do? And under the eaves and through the walls the squirrels have gnawed their ragged entrances but it is the season when they need shelter, so what shall I do? And the raccoon limps into the kitchen and opens the cupboard while the dog snores, the cat hugs the pillow; what shall I do? Beautiful is the new snow falling in the yard and the fox who is staring boldly up the path, to the door. And still I believe you will come, Lord: you will, when I speak to the fox, the sparrow, the lost dog, the shivering sea-goose, know that really I am speaking to you whenever I say, as I do all morning and afternoon: Come in, Come in." ~Mary Oliver "Love is what we are; we don't get it from somebody, we can't give it to anybody, we can't fall in it or fall out of it. Love is our true being." ~Krishna Das Happy Monday beautiful hearts! Over the weekend I had the immense pleasure of attending a Krishna Das concert in Cleveland. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Krishna Das, he is an amazing spiritual seeker who began his journey back in the 60's.
From his website: "Krishna Das met spiritual seeker Ram Dass; he traveled across the country with Ram Dass as his student, captivated by the stories of his recent trip to India where he had met the legendary guru Neem Karoli Baba, known to most as Maharaj-ji. Finally, following his heart, in August 1970, Krishna Das left behind his dreams of being a rock star and made his way to meet this remarkable Being. Basking in the love of Maharaj-ji in the three years that followed, KD’s heart was drawn to the practice of Bhakthi Yoga – the yoga of devotion and after two and a half years with Maharaj-ji, he returned to USA – alas, six months after his return, word came that Maharaj-ji had died. “I will sing for you in the west” he had promised his beloved Guru in his own heart. This did not come easily. If you listen to KD in one of his many workshops or read his book ‘Chants of a Life Time’ you will know that it took almost 20 years for KD to sing with groups of people around the USA." Being in his presence over the weekend was enlivening and peaceful all at the same time. If you have never tried chanting, I would highly suggest you try it just once in your life...it might just change your life. It quiets the mind. Soothes anxiety and rewires us to be more present. May your Monday be full of song! May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah Happy Friday beautiful hearts! Loving this man even more!
Checkout this Netflix documentary. It will warm your heart:)! May you Sweetly Seek! In Gratitude, Sarah Happy Thursday beautiful hearts! My sister site, CoolCreativePress has a tag line, 'Choosing Fierceness.' As I think of these words, I feel so grateful to be living a wholehearted life that is centered about being fierce. Fierce takes balls! Fierce takes courage and vulnerability. Trust me, there are days where I would rather pull the covers up, and hang up my 'adulting' hat. But I don't because I want to keep climbing! I have big things to do in this life, and so do you!!!
I was taking a Yoga class the other day and the instructor's message was all about coming to the edges of our lives. About nearing the cliff and having a willingness to jump off. To trust that we can fly. To embody seeds of faith. To say "YES" even when those around us can't see the way! To shift our perspective. To put on our positive pants and create the life that we have dreamed of. Seriously, if we don't, who will? As you gaze into your own life, what does it look like to 'Choose Fierceness,' because it is a choice! I think that choosing implies a sense of personal responsibility. A certain element of resiliency! How are you currently 'Choosing Fierceness?' Let me know in the comment section below! I am so curious about how we can support one another to live Fierce, Creative, Love-filled lives!! Cheers to the journey! May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah “You must learn one thing:
the world was made to be free in. Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong. Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you.” ― David Whyte Happy Friday beautiful hearts! As I write this I am in Austin Texas attending a publishing conference. All of my electronic devices have decided to pause, so I am using my friends computer to write this post.
I hate to say it...but Mercury is in retrograde which sometimes accounts for faulty electronic equipment as well as mishaps in communication. As I tap into my flustered feelings and sense of disconnection, I find myself taking a big breath. Most of my life revolves around electronics. It's how I make my living...it's how I communicate with the world. As I slide into this space of disconnection, it feels odd and a tad on the lonely side. I don't like being disconnected. On the flip side, perhaps that's what I need for the next day or so? What's it like for you when you are in essence made to 'pause?' Do you fight it? Do you struggle in the midst of it? Pausing seems to be an art form that I need to connect with more often. How about you? Wishing you a wonderful weekend! May the pause contain the medicine you need! May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah “When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you
don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and argument. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change” ― Thich Nhat Hanh Happy Tuesday beautiful hearts! My apologies for such a span of time between posts!
I was listening to an amazing podcast yesterday, Tarot for the Wild Soul with Lindsey Mack and it got me thinking about the current energy in our lives. By no means do I understand what planets are squaring my moon, let alone how that corresponds to my life, but what I do know is that her words have been like medicine to my heart. In a very elementary way I'd like to share in the hopes that her download resonates with you. It has offered me a new way to look at life. My basic take away from her talk is that right now life is offering us a chance to upgrade. The ideals that we cling to. The beliefs that we hold. The desires that we have. How does our idea of what life 'should' look like trip us up? The planetary alignments right now are offering us a chance to look with different eyes. Perhaps the people in our lives are appearing to liberate us. Where have we been stuck in our relationships? Where have we been grasping? What situation can we see differently? In other work that I have participated in, I would recognize this as victim triangle work. When life is happening to me, I am the victim of the events and circumstances. Things appear to be out of my control and in this stance with life I can then blame and persecute others. This is an exhausting and totally egoic stance to assume with life. What if you looked with your divine eyes and saw that every person along your path has been choreographed to show up at this moment? What if old patterns are appearing not to punish you, but so that you can 'upgrade' your way of being? The Buddha says that our suffering arises out of wanting this moment to be different then it is. So my friends, how is this moment holding a space for you to be upgraded? Tune into your heart. Quiet your thoughts. Let go of life happening to you. Stand in your power and allow yourself to be upgraded. May You Sweetly Seek:) In Gratitude, Sarah |
