Man's Best Friend..

Picture

Happy Friday!  Hope all that celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday enjoyed their time with family and friends.  This time of year marks such an opportunity to truly cultivate an attitude of gratitude.  One of the definitions of Thanksgiving is "a public celebration in acknowledgment of divine favor or kindness." To this definition I say we aspire to divine favor and kindness each and every day.

For this Friday Favorite, man's best friend comes to mind.  I feel the love that we have for our animals so easily helps us to cultivate kindness and divine favor in our lives.  As you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend, I hope you snuggle in with your furry friends; after all, "happiness is a warm puppy."

May you Sweetly Seek:)

Sarah

Words of Wisdom Wednesday

Picture
Happy Wednesday beautiful hearts! I hope this day is showering you with many blessings.  I was talking to a friend the other day and we were discussing how it can be so easy to see the glass as half empty, instead of brimming with possibility.  When life gets chaotic or the mind chatter gets out of control, I love tapping into the power of a positive thought.

This time of year offers the opportunity to connect with those we love; to outwardly demonstrate our love as a verb.  I adore this quote by Audrey Hepburn, and can see it's lovely thread weaving into the magic of life.  We have a choice everyday to see the good in someone else, for as we see the goodness in them; we magnify our own light.  As we pause in conversation with self and others, we create a space for kindness to flourish. This kindness becomes a bridge between hearts.  As we walk this path of life, the sweetness of knowing that we are never alone illuminates even our darkest hours.

Happy traveling loves....may you forge ahead; walking with conviction and bearing witness to the beauty that is all around.

May you Sweetly Seek:)

The gift of a greeting card...

Picture
Happy Tuesday!  I hope you're all having a blessed day!  I was so excited this morning on my drive to the gym as I was thinking about creating my post.  With the holidays coming up, I love sending and receiving cards.  It's so much fun to check the mailbox and receive something other than a piece of junk mail.  A personalized card is a rather thoughtful gesture from a friend or family member.  There's a buzz of gratitude that happens as you tear into the envelope and delight in the sentiment.  I still treasure my grandma's address book that has been loved into bits and pieces for the past 50+ years.  She was very impressive as she had everyone's birthdays, anniversaries, and special events cataloged in this little book.  I loved how she reached out to celebrate life and the events along the way.

My curiosity then led me to the Internet to research when greeting cards were birthed into existence.  I discovered on Hallmark's website that greeting cards became popular in the 19th Century as literacy and technology improved.  The first birthday card originated in 1850.  Hallmark then introduced their first Christmas card in 1915.  Wowzers...cards have been impacting people's lives for quite a long time!

With the dawning of our technological age it still warms my heart to have a paper card to treasure.  The flair of someone's signature, the sentiments scribbled on the page, just the thoughtful gesture of taking time.

As I sit writing this, I just got my mail, and to my surprise I received 2 greeting cards today!!  One was from my dad; my grandmothers son.  She'd be super proud dad!!  The other one is from my downstairs neighbor who is visiting family in Flordia.  You never know how something so little becomes such a warm space in one's heart.

May this season bless you in a multitude of ways!!

May you Sweetly Seek:)

Sarah

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” Thich Nhat Hanh
Happy Monday loves!  Today's inspiration comes straight from Mother Nature.  This unusually warm November day has been tugging at my heart, inviting my spirit and warming my soul.  The day has been buzzing with a gorgeous energy!

I love the sacred solace I find while in nature;  the profound sense of connection, the deep rooting into the Earth, the melodious whisperings of gratitude.  As I was walking through the woods this morning, I kept stopping to simply listen and soak in the simplicity and wonder of this space.  The invitation to slow it all down; to be present.  I love how the path before me opened up and called me to journey onward.  Sometimes I feel the distractions in life cause me to wander from this heart space path, but today I found myself reconnecting and reveling in simple gratitude.  My thoughts became prayers of thanksgiving and I found myself announcing with delight my heart's desires.  The wind seemed to carry these prayers upward.  A smile spread across my face and I felt such love and support.

I've found that as I move through life, I sometimes forget that every thought becomes a prayer, every movement an imprint on the Earth.  Today was a subtle reminder to move with grace, to announce gratitude, and to love the simplicity of nature.

As you move through you day, may you delight in your authentic nature.  May you leave the Earth a better place.  Every thought, every action leaves its mark on your path...sprinkle it with LOVE

May you Sweetly Seek:)

Words of Wisdom Wednesday- Living your Art

Picture
Happy gorgeous W.O.W. Wednesday beautiful friends!  The day has been woven with blazing intentions and cheerful curiosity.  This quote by Emile Zola has become a new favorite.  I think it beckons to each one of us to live the questions as we reveal the answers in our everyday lives.  A friend and I have been encouraging one another to tap into our "inner artist."  I believe this "artist" is alive in each of us.  To cultivate this sense of aliveness animates our voice, our strength, our emotional well being, our sense of wonder, our conviction of purpose.  When we live out loud we encourage a synergy of love and possibility.  We nestle into the heart of who we are and flourish.

On this special day, I invite each one of you to live out loud; make your kindness loud, your art spectacular, your love priceless, your life a statement of creativity.  Allow yourself to see the world as a blank canvas. How can you bless the Earth with your presence?  Your artistic authenticity paves the way for the most amazing experience.  Be bright, be light, be YOU!!

May you Sweetly Seek

A love letter to YOU...

Picture

Happy Tuesday:)!  Tuesdays on Sweetly Seeking are all about exploration and adventure.  Some weeks it might be the fierce travel-bug adventure, but this Tuesday I am feeling inspired to travel towards the magnificence of each and everyone of us.

My feet hit the floor this morning and I instantly brought my attention towards my intention for the day.  Waking from slumber I felt a sweetness, a refreshed spirit; a brand new adventure.  The intensity for opportunity felt EPIC...I enjoy journaling on a regular basis and my inspiration this morning began weaving itself into a love letter...this was no ordinary love letter, it became a beautiful meditation.  What if each morning we saw the existential "love letter" awaiting our gaze?  How would our lives change if we opened the letter and took to heart all of its content?  How would we live our days if we saw with Divine sight? Here's just a peak into my musing...

My Dearest One,
I am overjoyed that you are waking from such a refreshing slumber.  I have been anxiously cultivating the desires in your heart, conspiring to unleash your passions.  My beautiful child, I hope that your journey today is paved in kindness.  Kindness towards yourself, forgiveness for the shadows that might steal this joyous moment, patience for any sorrows in your heart.  May you extend your life in service, your hands in prayer, your eyes fixed with love, your senses delighted with wonder, and your taste, so sweet for this life.  YOU are a miracle, simply and wonderfully made.  I invite you to release your struggles, surrender your fears, laugh with the heart of a child, and believe in miracles.  This day is shaped in heavenly ways.  May you explore it with courage; loving this body that houses your soul.  Every breath is a prayer of gratitude.  Shine YOUR authentic light, live out your vulnerabilities, and LOVE YOURSELF so that you may love others.  Let it go...let your life flow into the well-spring of the present moment.  May you have the BEST DAY EVER!!
All my Love...

The Universe

I invite you to allow the Universe, The Divine, your higher connection to transcribe a love letter to you...may it inspire you to LOVE YOURSELF and LIVE YOUR LIFE!  Happy traveling:)

“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.” ― Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Happy Monday:)!  I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!  We've had our first snow in Ohio.  The noisy sounds of morning were drowned out by the fresh blanket of snow.  The Earth felt like she was moving in slow motion as people traveled to and fro.

There's something magical about the first dusting of "white stuff."  It reminds me of being a child, of being full of wonder and excitement, of tumbling down sledding hills, making snow angels, and cuddling up with those you love.  Fast forward to being an adult, and sometimes the "white stuff" loses its luster.  It normally means getting up earlier to scrap the car off, re-routing travel to ensure a safe arrival, and if you live in Ohio; it normally ensures that you won't have any sunshine streaming through your windows.  With that being said, I've been retreating into the wonder of its arrival today; enjoying this blanket of glistening snow.  There's an element of delight being cultivated; a remembering of days gone by.  In this remembering for me today, I feel the invitation to travel more mindfully and thoughtfully; to perhaps slow down in my thinking and in my engaging with others. To truly see the beautiful landscape that is in front of me.  This time of year always leaves me feeling a bit introspective.  I notice myself sitting at the hearth of my heart, tending to the solitude that winter offers.

I absolutely adore quotes, and musings and this one really spoke to me today.
“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory." ~Betty Smith

Today I hope your eyes hold the glory of seeing a person, situation, nature, or even yourself for the first time.  May you be filled with the wonder of pure sight as you nestle in for the night.

May you Sweetly Seek
