My teacher David shared with our class that in terms of dreaming, our dreams become pre-occupations for us that sometimes keep us from doing what we would like to do, (i.e.- moving forward, accepting a new position, developing a new relationship, etc.) More often than not, the preoccupation keeps an individual from doing what they want to do. When we tap into our generative fantasies in our dreaming state, we begin to experience them as either premonitions or previews of possibilities.
So what does this mean in terms of your life? There are many ways in which we can retrieve the information of the unconscious mind through our dream state. As my teacher David shared, "Dreaming offers us a menu of possibilities. What will you chose? Having made a choice, will you chose to rehearse the same narrative, repeating or replaying the same pattern, or will you dream in symbolic expressions through the power of your imagination?
As Sigmund Freud stated, “Dreams are the royal road to the unconscious.” While Jung felt that, “The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the psyche.”
May you begin tapping into the menu of your unconscious while truly uncovering the recesses of your psyche.
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
