Facts About Heart Disease in Women:
"Do you know what causes heart disease in women? What about the survival rate? Or whether women of all ethnicities share the same risk?
The fact is: Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute!
But it doesn’t affect all women alike, and the warning signs for women aren’t the same in men. What’s more: These facts only begin to scratch the surface.
There are several misconceptions about heart disease in women, and they could be putting you at risk. The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement advocates for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health for this very reason."
In an attempt to highlight precautionary measures, The American Heart Association has highlighted a list, Life's Simple 7 to follow in order to keep heart disease in check.
1. Get Active
2. Control Cholesterol
3. Eat better
4. Manage BP
5. Lose Weight
6. Reduce BP
7. Stop Smoking
Love the women in your life by supporting them this month and always! The Feminine has some pretty kick ass powers that evolve straight from the heart. May we strengthen this center of our being through physical activity and self care. May we nurture the emotions of the heart by allowing a space to feel and then heal. May we remember that we are a body, mind, and spirit! May we love the heck out of our lives and one another!
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
