~Alphonse Karr
As I searched the shelves for several items, one of the stock boys noticed the roses in my cart and smiled at me. "It sure looks like you're going to have a nice evening lady."
I chuckled as I gazed into my cart and smiled back at him. "These roses are for me. I love to buy flowers, and I love to be surrounded by beautiful things. Life's too short to wait around for beauty, you know what I mean?"
"Hmmm...that's pretty interesting lady. I guess you might as well buy them for yourself, heck, I might just need to buy my wife some?"
I smiled back at him and we both agreed that his wife might just love a bouquet of roses from him.
As I strolled throughout the rest of the store, I couldn't help but smile. There's something about caring for ourselves that invites in a level of intimacy that cannot be measured. When our spirits feel cared for, I believe our souls become reinvigorated. When we care for ourselves, we encourage those around us to care for themselves as well. Our rituals of care become very personal and intimate. These rituals then become the way that we live our lives.
My beautiful friends, I invite you to do something for yourself today. Allow yourself to feel cared for. Nature your spirit. Honor the beauty of your life. Create experiences that fill your heart. And what the heck, if the roses are beautiful and fragrant, then buy yourself 2 bouquets. I don't think anyone ever regretted showing themselves kindness:).
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
