As I stare into the morning sunrise and I am reminded of the quote from Hafiz, "Even after all this time the sun never says to the Earth, 'You owe me.' Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky."
Kindness embodies this quote. Kindness is unselfish and seeks to better the heart of the believer. The benevolence of others connects all of our hearts. Kindness continually asks that you consider how you are sharing yourself with the world. Are you able to show up in the present moment just as you are? You are in a state of evolution and transformation, not perfection and impossibility. As you extend love and gentleness to others, are you extending it to yourself?
I traveled a bit over the weekend and I am simply amazed at how many kind people I met. Kindness showed up in many forms- a simple smile from a stranger, a helpful flight attendant, a comfortable bed, a safe flight, an awesome hotel clerk, and the list goes on and on. My brother and I had the privilege of celebrating my dad's 70th birthday, and just for the record he's only 50 and I'm only 26! My how the years have flown! I just love this guy!
On the tail end of that celebration I am gathering with other family to honor the passing of their mother. Kindness is the beginning of our sweetness and what we can hope to return to. You have the ability to light up an entire sky with your kindness. Kindness simply asks that you show up, and offer the best of yourself to the world. Our good will is contagious. Our task is to simply honor the grand kindness that lives within all of us.
When you arise in the morning, may your intention include kindness towards self and others. As you first open your eyes, may you ask to see with a kind gaze. As you breath, may your lungs be full with gratitude. As you hear the world buzzing around you, may you tune into the frequency of kindness. Kindness is all around my friends. May your life be a living tribute to this generous energy.
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
