"And there will come a time when differences no longer harass you."-II.48
This concept jumped from the page and instantly swirled its way into my heart. I love this! I notice the selective compartments of my practice, of my life...the resounding differences that I've habitually cultivated. We spend so much time comparing, contrasting, shrinking and expanding. We create labels for our lack of understanding, we abandon our passions, we dismiss change and then we wonder why we suffer? As we allow our inner life to flow, we invite this state of allowance into our lives. We no longer request this perplexing partner to dance the same chaotic tango with us.
I'm still in the beginning chapters of How Yoga Works, but thus far it models much of the text after the physical practice of Yoga. The postures, or asanas are a concrete way to notice the poses we favor, in our practice and the ones we avoid...to be present for the unfolding of our practice, both off and on the mat. We create a pocket of opportunity when we simply allow ourselves to be HERE...and in that space, differences will no longer harass us as Patangali stated in the Sutras.
May your heart be open and free!
May you Sweetly Seek!
In Gratitude:) ~Sarah
