Finding your seat...
Sitting on my meditation cushion this morning I found a busy mind, but an open heart to the experience of stillness. I shifted into a guided practice by Naisha Ahsiam, entitled Primus. This 26 minute meditation connected me in with the power of Mother Earth and the vastness of the blue sky. The pivot point of these worlds became my heart. Each inhale connected the energies of heaven and Earth in my heart center, and each exhale expressed love back to the Earth and the heavens. At the end of my meditation time, the thought that entered back into my mind was, "How can it get any better than this?"
It feels delicious to land in this infinite space of possibility...where creativity and gratitude conspire us towards our highest self. According to the medical on-line dictionary, "Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth." As Emeril would say, "BAM !" What more do we need to know about the positive benefits of meditation? Meditation causes us to be more compassionate, research has demonstrated that it helps with our cognitive processes, with pain management, and living with present moment awareness. In my next life, I would love to be a neuroscientist to understand the inner workings of this ancient practice and how it is still transcending into our modernized culture.
If you are new to meditation there are many resources available. One of my favorite teachers is Tara Brach:

Another blessing to the meditation community is Jack Kornfield:

As you find your space to practice in, may you begin to tap into the vastness of possibilities, "How can it get any better?"
Wishing you kindness, compassion and JOY for your journey!
May you Sweetly Seek
In Gratitude:)
