If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn't know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn't have opened for anyone else.”
~Joseph Campbell
I was meandering through the woods yesterday and felt such a sense of wonder. Had I not taken time for this space of peace and expansion I wouldn't have "followed my bliss" as Campbell says.
I had so much going on, my mind was charging forward into the future, and I felt a bit anxious over my to-do list. I hadn't planned on stopping by the woods, but somehow my car just headed in that direction. Thank goodness for our hearts GPS! We would miss so many lovely experiences if we were not tuned into this internal compass.
A lesson I keep exploring is contained in the above quote. By following our bliss 'you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while waiting for you.' Part of living is trusting ourselves to know what we need. Yesterday I needed the glory of fresh air, the heat of the sun on my back, the blanket of wildflowers at my feet, and the sacred space that Mama Nature always offers.
Bliss is a series of 'saying yes.' When we say yes, we lay a bit more of our path down so it becomes easier to continue forward. Our advancement encourages others to open the doors in their lives. When we trust ourselves, we honor our feelings, we express the infinite possibilities in our hearts.
Are you getting excited? This beautiful life is a mystery of cherished possibilities. You can't make a wrong decision if you believe that every decision is supporting your growth as a gorgeous spiritual being. Even when we can't see the door opening, may we trust that the universe is tending to the desires of our hearts.
May you Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
