I was reviewing a teaching on Co-Dependency the other day and felt re-energized by this powerful information. Co-dependency is a game learned very early on by children in codependent families. Families tend to shift between these 3 roles of victim, rescuer, and persecutor. We have all been a victim, a rescuer, and a persecutor at various times throughout our lives. In essence we have the ability to shift from these 3 interchangeable roles spontaneously and in reaction to various events in our lives.
The work of showing up in our lives takes courage and presence. Somedays we simply wish to pull the covers back over our heads and hide our hearts. Other days we wake up ready to be a warrior. The act of living means digging deep and loving fiercely. By doing our own work, we begin shifting our galaxy of thought and perceptions. As we wake up with more awareness we are able to make more empowered choices. Would you like to be more empowered in your life?
Diane's work surrounding the Victim Triangle has been pivotal for me. Her book, Breaking Free from the Victim Trap: Reclaiming Your Personal Power now rests on a treasured shelf in my library.
It is my hope that the content shared on the blog sparks your curiosity. I love learning and am passionate about sharing amazing new information as it comes across my radar.
When you are able to see that I am you and you are me, a foundation for change is animated. I believe we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. Our experiences can be trying, exhausting, exhilarating, and monumental. The more equipped we are for the journey, the more compassionately we live.
