Super Brain = Responsible Energy

Happy Tuesday beautiful hearts!  Today I want to talk about your gorgeous mind!  Do you ever feel like your mind is in the drivers seat taking YOU for a ride?  If we allow the brain to drive our lives we become the passive passengers of a carelessly unintentional life.  There is no LIGHT in living that way....I was in Yoga class last night and the teacher was asking us to notice the energy we brought in with us as well as the quality of thoughts:
Laying in child's pose I can feel my breath warm and full...there is a richness that this practice brings to my life.  Did I remember to pay my health insurance?  Maybe I left my keys in my boots?  Sarah, come back to your breath....that's much better.  I notice my mind still settling in...the wheel of thoughts turns from anxiousness to pockets of peace...The smell of incense swirls through each inhale.  I notice the tightness in my hips and anxiously await their release.  Sometimes I wonder how the emotions of the day become so mechanically hardwired to land here?  I feel my third eye center connected to the Earth, my prayer is to be of service.  I can feel a smile starting to form and welcome its presence.  Gratitude...I feel a chill up and down my spine.  So much frickin' gratitude for everything that brought me to my practice tonight.  Amidst all of this I notice my nose is squished into the mat.  I stay for several more breathes noticing the distraction of this squish, and then realize I could simply shift my body to release this sensation.  Wow...all it took was an awareness that I could do something different to take care of myself?  I notice the energy I first came in with shifting....the richness of my breath becomes a prayer of intention...I am a channel for Light and Spirit...
Every space we enter is imprinted with our energetic blueprint.  It's our responsibility to notice what we bring with us.  I love the above affirmation by Louise Hay, "I change my life when I change my thinking..."  Great thought, but how do we translate into our everyday lives??  One of the many books I am LOVING right now is Super Brain by Deepak Chopra and Sudolph Tanzi.  As they share in their book, "Relating to your brain in a new way is the way you can change your reality....Your brain cannot do what it thinks it cannot do." Maybe there is a situation in your life that has held your captive, maybe you replay a scenario, maybe you struggle with chronic anxiety, maybe you never even thought about the energy that you bring with you...as Deepak and Sundolph state in their book, "Use your brain, don't let your brain use you." 

They debunk 5 myths that might well change your reality. (You'll have to checkout the book to see how these myths are disproved!)
1. The injured brain cannot heal itself.
2. The brain's hardwiring cannot be changed
3. Aging in the brain is inevitable and irreversible.
4. The brain loses millions of cells a day, and lost brain cells cannot be replaced.
5. Primitive reactions (fear, anger, jealousy, aggression) overrule the higher brain.

Hope this information leaves your feeling inspired!  Your relationship to your brain directly translates into the way that you live your life.  As Louise Hay so beautifully stated, "If I want to change my reality, then it is time for me to change my mind."
