~Carol Lampman, Integral Breathwork
During this time of learning I found it vital to connect with my parents and inquire about my entrance into the world; from the time of conception until I arrived. I often remember my mom imparting my birth story as a young child, but the details weren't of importance to me at that time. I just loved how she held me in her lap and embellished my entrance into the world. I could always feel her love.
As I dive deeper into my own personal healing work, I have found that my birth experience has offered much insight into my interaction with self and others. I am able to see how I recapitulate my birth experience throughout my life. I feel compelled to share this information with you from Carol Lampman's training in an effort to spark new levels of awareness in your life:
Prenantal Influence:
"The time the unborn child spends in the womb is one of the most relaxed and easiest stages of development. All or our needs are provided by the umbilical connection and we float comfortably in a pond of warm fluid. There is nothing to do but just 'Be' as we grow and develop." As you peer into your own life, perhaps as an adult you can see how you attempt to recreate this womb experience for yourself? Perhaps you love taking a soak in a warm tub, or curling up under the covers? These are just a few experiences.
I find it mind blowing that the unborn child is receiving information from the mother's neurological system as well as telepathically! Just think of the unborn child as an antenna. If perhaps the child is unwanted, unplanned, an accident, or the 'wrong sex' research has shown that the child has already taken on the unconscious attitude that they need to 'hide' and, they perhaps conclude that they are doomed to be a disappointment to those they love.
There is so much rich information surrounding birth issues. Here are a few key phrases that might indicate a birth issue:
- Life is a struggle
- The world is a hostile place
- I can't get what I need
- I can't trust women or men
- Nobody wants me
- I can't get out
- Love is dangerous
I could dedicate an entire year to birth issues, but I'll leave you with this brief introduction. Bottom line, if your parents are still around make sure to gather the information surrounding your birth experience. Find out what was going on in the world at the time of your birth, your mothers personal experience as she was pregnant with you, your delivery details, and what the first few days of your life were like outside of the womb.
As we become more aware of our birth experiences we are able to make the unconscious conscious and dismantle our tendency to recapitulate our birth experience throughout our lives. Healing happens when we extend love. It truly is all about love.
