I remember growing up, and more often than not, I had a book in my hand. I loved reading my grandma's trashy romance novels, all the while I adored the classics and mystical poets. My journals contained some of my most treasured experiences of life. I always knew I wanted to write and connect with people, but as a kid, how do you translate that into a career path? The more obvious choice was perhaps the legal field? I received much praise and support for my reading skills and my writing abilities, so at certain points in my life, I was encouraged to become a lawyer. It makes sense? Right?
TIME OUT- Fast forward to present day, and this is exactly what we are speaking of in my coaching class. A great question to begin asking yourself is, "Am I doing what I love, or am I doing what I have been told that I'm good at?" There is a huge difference...and trust me friends it has taken me 30 some years to recognize the difference. No shame. No judgement. No regret. Simply possibility!! You are the infinite author of your life! As a Jim Rohn once said, "If you don't like where you are, move. You are not a tree."
So, how would your life look if you were to develop more of who you are instead of who you are not? And what would your profession be if you followed the path of your passion, not the path of your 'skill set?' Would there be a difference?
I know I could've been a kick ass lawyer if I wanted to be, but in my heart of hearts, that wasn't my mission on this Earth. My mission is to use the beauty of words to help people realize their intrinsic gifts and live their lives in awareness of their greatness! I love learning and teaching and sharing and growing...I am doing this in my own life and I hope to inspire others to do it in their life.
Bottom line....live your beautiful, exquisite, impeccable, happy, dualistic, spiritual life in the most awake and aware way! If you want to be a lawyer, be the most amazing one this world has ever seen. If you want to be a source of inspiration, then dedicate your life to being of service. If you want to be a nurse or a doctor, pledge your heart towards helping others to heal. Above all...make sure to ask the question, "Am I doing what I love?" Allow your outer world to be a reflection of your inner joys!
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
