"FOCUS ON WHAT YOU"RE GOOD AT."
Bring your unique constellation of energy to the world and don't try to fit yourself into the cookie cutter mold of another's life. As you focus on growing your unique self image and identity, you grow into a greater sense of peace and a more deeply rooted sense of balance. "Who would you be if you weren't being who everyone else wanted or expected you to be?"
I'll share an example of this from my own life. I can remember a time in life when I decided that I could be an expert in the field of Quickbooks. (Now, anyone who knows me, would find this statement a tab bit odd, because to know me, you know I am not a numbers chicky). I got good at inputting checks and balancing statements, but I loathed it. The people around me praised me for this task, but all the while, I couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. You see, this is where I got out of alignment with focusing on what I was good at. I worked hard to be good at this task, but Quickbooks wasn't growing my sense of peace and it certainly left me feeling less than balanced. I was praised for my adaptability, but this wasn't me. I wanted other people to be proud of me, so I shoved my own ideas out to the curb and worked hard to fit into a mold that wasn't me. (I have to follow this story up and share that I wouldn't change this experience for the world because it has brought me to this exact moment, but I can use it as a teaching point. Funny how life offers us the best real life examples. No regrets my friends, only lessons:).
Awaken your unique constellation of energy. As my coach and teacher Michael shared, "Learn to resonate with who you are, rather than atone and mourn for who you are not." Perhaps you are an incredible painter, artist, doctor, lawyer, teacher, dog walker, etc., but maybe somewhere along the way you got 'shamed' for wanting to pursue this passion of yours. So maybe you stuffed this part of yourself down into the basement and locked the door. My friends, we have to bring ourselves out of the basements. We must sit with the one inside of us who dreamed and loved life. We must give this part of ourselves permission to exist. We need to re-empower our dreams and the child inside of us who dreamed them.
Focus on what you're good at. Allow this focus to grow your abundance, your relationships, your successes. By focusing on what we are good at, I feel that we have far less regrets moving through our lives. We also empower others to focus on what they are good at.
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
Sarah
