Greatness!
It is serene. Empty. Solitary. Unchanging. Infinite. Eternally present.
It is the Mother of the universe. For lack of a better name, I call it the Tao.
I call it great. Great is boundless; boundless is eternally flowing; ever flowing,
it is constantly returning.
Therefore, the Way is great, heaven is great, earth is great, people are great.
Thus, to know humanity, understand earth.
To know earth, understand heaven.
To know heaven, understand the Way.
To know the Way, understand the great within yourself."
25th Verse of Tao Te Ching
Wayne Dyer has been a brilliant leader during this age of awakening. His life's work has rewired the chambers of our hearts. As I crack open his book, Change Your Thoughts-Change Your Life; Living the Wisdom of the Tao," I feel the brilliance of abundant information summoning my attention. As I read his commentary on this particular verse, I can't help but chuckle as I ceremoniously opened to 'whatever page' would be of most benefit for Thankful Thursday.
Dr. Dyer comments that after centuries of study, the 25th verse seems to have one of the most significant lessons in the entire manuscript- Greatness. This verse encourages the 'self' to seek greatness on the interior. As you more consciously move towards your dreams, move with greatness. Notice how greatness would sound in your life. Notice how greatness would make you feel. Notice how greatness reconnects you to possibilities. This vessel that you occupy allows you to accomplish the daily tasks of living, but it is your essence which hails from greatness, from the vastness of the Earth and Heavens. The Way is you and you are the Way. Once you recognize this divine and universal truth, watch your life propel you even deeper into greatness.
As Dr. Dyer suggests, greatness is not found in the walls of an institution, or from the praise of a teacher, or in our desire for praise, nor is it found our relationships with others. Dr. Dyer proposes that, "It's crucial for you to become conscious of the greatness that constantly flows through you- to do so, meet in meditative moments of gratitude, and cease to be influenced by contrary points of view."
On this beautiful infinite day of gratitude, I invite you to sit, dance, praise, and jump for joy- your life is from the realms of greatness. Dr. Dyer suggests this activity for your life: Copy the following words and apply them to yourself: "I came from greatness. I must be like what I came from. I will never abandon my belief in greatness and the greatness of others." Surround yourself with greatness. You are, I am...
May You Sweetly Seek:)
In Gratitude,
