As I reflect on my preparations, I think of this preparedness as a metaphor for life. To prepare means to "put in proper condition or readiness." We spend so much time and energy preparing and anticipating that we often miss the moments of life that are right in front of us. We can't make a flow chart for our lives sometimes. Somedays you just have to rock your PJ's and all the emotions that come with these days. And then other days you might feel like wearing your stilettos in a snowstorm. Honor the moment for all of the magic that is contained within it. How many moments of life do we miss because we are over prepared? There might be a rainbow staring us in the face but we are so worried about getting wet that we rummage through the car for an umbrella. Perhaps in a past experience we didn't get our needs met, but as we cultivate a relationship to the wise part of ourselves we begin to trust that all is well.
So, the moral of the story; plan accordingly, but make way for adventure in your life. Be so busy living your wild and precious life that you venture off the beaten path. Allow for plot twists. Go with the flow. Be present for the magnificence that is your life. Hunker in for snowstorms. Dance in the rain. Roll in the leaves. Just be with the moment that is unfolding. And then the next. And the next.
May You Sweetly Seek:)
